03 09 2013

British judo champion and Olympic silver medallist Gemma Gibbons has been announced as sports ambassador for Cancer Research UK, and is to raise awareness of the charity's sports fundraising events, encouraging people to take part in running, swimming and cycling to raise funds to support its research.

Gibbons, whose mother died from leukaemia when she was 17, said 'I'm really glad that I can help to raise awareness of the huge range of fun events you can take part in, whatever your fitness level, and encourage as many people as possible to get involved'.
